  • Burmese Civilization AD 500

The long-lasting kingdom of Pye continues to flourish, though by this time may be coming under pressure from Burman tribes coming in from the north. This area, formerly full of “wild tribes” constantly at war with the Chinese, has been moulded into a kingdom by Chinese commanders and officials. Although this kingdom has been set up under Chinese influence, it is increasingly coming under Indianizing influences, probably from the kingdom of Funan to the south and its successors.
