Well-used trade routes cross Anatolia and connect it to Mesopotamia. As a result, by this date the region is sharing in the civilization of the Middle East. Troy, for example, is one amongst many sizeable towns, usually (as in Troy’s case) surrounded by thick walls. Colonies of Mesopotamian traders are settled in the cities of Asia Minor.
