Timeline of Ancient China: 3500 BC - AD 500
  • Ancient China 200 BC

Civilization has continued to make remarkable progress within the Chinese world. A centuries-long phase of continuous warfare between large, well-organized states has led to the emergence of one super-state covering the whole of ancient China. This is ruled by the Han dynasty.

These developments within China have been matched by the formation of a great confederacy of tribes on the eastern steppes of central Asia. This is the Hun confederacy, the first in history of a series of warlike nomadic states that will have a profound effect on developments within the settled areas of eastern Asia.
