Timeline of Ancient World History: 3500 BC - AD 1
  • The Ancient World 1500 BC

Civilizations have continued to spread throughout the Ancient World. The first literate European cultures have appeared in and around the Aegean Sea, whilst, many thousands of miles eastwards, Chinese civilization has emerged. Even at this early stage in its history it is capable of fashioning some of the most beautiful bronze artifacts ever produced. On the Indian sub-continent, however, the sophisticated cities of the Indus valley have all vanished, for reasons modern scholars can only guess.

The Middle East has come to be dominated by a number of powerful, highly organized states, notably Egypt of the New Kingdom, the Hittite Empire, and Babylon.
